အဆိုပါေစ်းသည္ ယခင္က ျမစ္ကမ္းႏႇင့္ အေတာ္အတန္ ေ၀းေသာ္လည္း ကမ္းပါးၿပိဳျခင္းမ်ား ျဖစ္စဥ္ ျဖစ္ေပၚလာသျဖင့္ ယခုႏႇစ္တြင္ ပုိမို ထိခိုက္လာခဲ့ျခင္း ျဖစ္ေၾကာင္း၊ မိုးတြင္းကာလအတြင္း ေတာင္က်ေရႏႇင့္ ေရႀကီးေရလ်ံျခင္းမ်ား ျဖစ္ေပၚၿပီးတိုင္း ကမ္းပါးၿပိဳက်ေလ့ရႇိေၾကာင္း၊ ၾသဂုတ္လ ၁၆ ရက္ေန႔မႇ စတင္ကာ ကမ္းပါး ၿပိဳက်လာခဲ့ရာ ၂၀ ရက္ေန႔ အထိ ဆိုင္ခန္း ၁၀ ခန္းေက်ာ္ ကမ္းပါးၿပိဳက်ရာတြင္ ပါသြားခဲ့ၿပီး ျဖစ္ေၾကာင္း သိရႇိရသည္။

''ေရလမ္းေၾကာင္းက ေစ်းကုိ တည့္တည့္ ၀င္လာေတာ့ ကမ္းပါးေအာက္ေျခ လိႈက္စားၿပီး ၿပိဳက်တယ္။ အခုဆိုရင္ ပန္းေျမာင္းေစ်းဟာ သံုးပံု တစ္ပံုေလာက္ပဲ က်န္ေတာ့တယ္။ အိမ္ဆိုင္လို ဖြင့္ထားတဲ့သူေတြလည္း မေနရဲေတာ့ဘူး။ ေျပာင္းေနၾကရတယ္။ ေစ်းကုိ မေရႊ႕ေျပာင္းရင္ မျဖစ္ေတာ့တဲ့ အေျခအေနမႇာ ေရာက္ေနပါၿပီ။ ၂၀ ရက္ေန႔အထိ ဆိုင္ခန္း ၁၀ ခန္းေက်ာ္ ကမ္းပါးၿပိဳတဲ့အထဲ ပါသြားတာ''ဟု ပန္းေျမာင္းရြာသားတစ္ဦးက ေျပာၾကားခဲ့သည္။

''တကယ္ေတာ့ မူလ သတ္မႇတ္ထားတဲ့ ေစ်းဧရိယာက အက်ယ္ႀကီးဗ်။ ဟုိကတိုးခ်ဲ႕၊ ဒီကတိုးခ်ဲ႕၊ အိမ္ေတြေဆာက္ ဆိုေတာ့ ေစ်းက က်ဥ္းသြားတယ္။ ကမ္းပါးၿပိဳေတာ့ ကံေကာင္းလို႔ လူေတြမေသတာ။ ၿပိဳၿပီး ထြက္ေျပးေနလို႔ေပါ့။ တခ်ဳိ႕ဆို ပစၥည္း အနည္းအက်ဥ္း ပါသြားတယ္လို႔ သိရတယ္''ဟု ေစ်းအနီး ေနထုိင္သူတစ္ဦးက ေျပာျပခဲ့သည္။

Good Student, Bad Student

Today I’m gonna tell you a story that I usually tell at my seminars and presentations. Why do I tell it? Because it’s true, and I think it’s a great story to explain how important your mindset is, no matter what business you’re in or what venture you take on.

Like some of you know, I come from the music and entertainment biz, and this is definitely a business where you want to have a positive mindset and grab opportunities as they come along.

So, a couple of years ago I helped two students get an internship gig at one of the major labels here in L.A. The first one, let’s call him Greg, started his 8 week internship and when he was done, they took in number two, let’s call him hmm…Bob. Let’s also mention that landing an internship at a major label in L.A. is not the easiest thing in the world, but someone called in a favor, and I helped them out by placing these two individuals there.

So this is the story about Greg and Bob, two youngsters eager to break into the music biz, and how these guys in a weird way turned into an inspirational story I’ve been telling for years. Here we go:

Once upon a time… Ok, screw that… Greg started his 8 weeks, and as usual they threw him in the famous Xerox-room. This room is infamous, because they make you stand around and copy papers 8 hours a day the first week or so, because they need some grunt to do it, and sometimes to test you and see if you can manage. So Greg came in to work every morning, pretty much on time, copied papers all day, didn’t come out of the room at all, and looked very bored.

They also made him run errands and do other crappy intern stuff, and after those 8 weeks Greg told me, “That was the shittiest place I’ve ever worked at. No celebrities, shitty work, I felt like an unappreciated slave. I’ll never work for a major label again.”

Bob came in the week after, and of course he also got put in the Xerox room. The difference was that Bob went outside the room every time someone walked by and introduced himself. This way he got to know who was who in a couple of days, and he made sure they all knew who he was. He also came in extra early the next day, finished the copying early, and went straight to the hotshots and asked if he could help them with anything. He stayed a bit later than he was supposed to, but finished the tasks. He kept doing this for a few days, and all of a sudden they took him out of the Xerox room.

He started working with the hotshots, running their errands, and soon enough, he was sitting in the VIP-rooms with major, major celebrities (the clients), went backstage at big shows and got offered a job at a management company.

He called me and said “This was the best thing that has ever happened in my life. I got to hang out with X and Y, and now I have a job in the music biz!”

Conclusion? Set your mind for success, don’t EVER pass on an opportunity, in this case all the major label hotshots walking by right outside your door! Geez, what was Greg thinking? You lazy bastard! Put in some effort, work hard, work smart, and success will come. Now get to work!
